Relation and effect of the history of hypertensive dyscontrol in neurocognitive disorder in patients aged 60 to 75 years

La hipertensión arterial sistémica es el principal factor de riesgo vascular del deterioro neurocognitivo. En consecuencia, el deterioro neurocognitivo está creciendo a un ritmo alarmante en todo el mundo. Determinar la relación y efecto del descontrol hipertensivo en el trastorno neurocognitivo en pacientes de 60 a 75 años. Estudio observacional, analítico y ambispectivo, donde se incluyeron 132 pacientes con HTA, a quienes se les realizó test mini-mental de Folstein en búsqueda de deterioro neurocognitivo. Asimismo, la escala de Lawton y Brody. La población se caracterizó por mujeres de 68.0 años con un nivel de escolaridad de primaria. El 86.4% de ellos tenía un historial de control hipertensivo. Además, el 28.0% de los sujetos tiene algún trastorno neurocognitivo (25.8% leve y 2.3% moderado). En particular, el 41.7% de los pacientes tienen autonomía física. Por último, el 91.9% de ellos se catalogó como probable trastorno neurocognitivo menor según los criterios del DSM-V. Se identificó una correlación negativa moderada y significativa entre el puntaje de MMF y la presión arterial sistólica, lo que indica que mayor deterioro cognitivo se asocia con cifras más altas de presión sistólica, mientras que no se encontró relación con la presión diastólica.
